Pineapple from our Garden

Nothing much to write home about as we used to get pineapples by the dozen in the good old days and far bigger in size than what you see in the photo.
When mongoose made their appearance they ransacked our garden of tubers and pineapples.
This one must have escaped their eyes. It is small in size but should taste good. We will replant the green part after removing the pineapple

@allknowing Here we need to soak it into salt water and then eat it.

@youless We do not have that practice we put some sugar on the slices and eat them once the sugar dissolves. We did that yesterday

We have a "green part" that we have been growing for a couple years now - but as it is in a small pot, it would probably never grow into a full pineapple (I think?). If anything it is at least still alive. That's wonderful you can actually grow pineapples there!1 person likes this

@allknowing We don't get mongooses here, but we can't grow proper pineapples either
. IF we were to grow one, it might be super, super tiny.

The green part is certainly huge. I want sure which part got planted. I wonder if it's hot enough here this summer too try planting one. Does each one make host one or do they spread?
