Day 305
Promise 775
Revelation 22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he who keeps the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
How often do you encounter people who are faithful and true? How dependable are the people you know? Can you trust them to keep their word? I would guess you only know a handful of people you can depend on to do what they say. Some need reminding.
The angel who showed John the events of the Tribulation told him everything he showed him was faithful and true, and then added, everything would be done soon and without delay.
As Christians, you often hear people tell you Jesus is a myth. He’s a man. He’s not God. He’s not coming back or He would have already returned.
How quick is quick? We look at time. We see the earth has been around for millions, if not billions, of years, and man has been here for thousands of years. Yet God doesn’t look at time in the same way we do.
Psalm 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. (KJV)
2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (KJV)
When you look at time from God’s perspective, it’s only days since creation. It’s only two days since Jesus returned to heaven to prepare a place for you.
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (KJV)
Jesus promised to prepare a place for you before He returned. He also promised He wouldn’t return until everyone whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life accepted Him as Savior and Lord.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (KJV)
Where would you be if Jesus returned before you accepted Him as Savior and Lord? Where would your loved ones be? What about your best friends? Jesus came to save everyone when He died on the cross. Everyone has an equal chance to accept or reject Him.
John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He who believes on him is not condemned: but he who believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Your friends and loved ones have the same opportunity to accept or reject Jesus as you did. Jesus’ return is imminent according to God’s timetable, not yours. God’s faithfulness is seen in every promise He kept. How many did He keep? All of them.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for keeping Your promises. Thank you for saving me. Give me patience as I wait for Your soon return, not according to my timetable, but according to Yours. Help me pray for my friends and loved ones who don’t know You yet. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
