I have to admire the way that Ocean County New Jersey teen Matthew Neilsen acted on his love of taking care of his four old sister who was being bit by a fox on her leg managed to fight the animal by grabbing, punching and slamming the animal away from his relative based on his courage in going for broke instead of playing it safe.
Wildlife officials were able to capture the fox by placing it inside of a clothes hamper to take the animal from harm this past weekend.
The attacks by foxes on humans are rare unless a human decides to bother the animal.
I doubt that the fox was provoked into attacking three persons outdoors. Of course I was not there as an eyewitness.
The young girl who is four years of age is okay physically after the fox bit her. She was given a rabies shot as a precaution since foxes have been known for having rabies which may have been one factor why the fox attacked three people.
Talia Neilsen who is the mom of the two children is proud of her son taking action to save his sister from being seriously injured at the hands.
The fox has been taken to an animal hospital to be tested for rabies. What will happen to the fox remains to be seen.
I will say this about Matthew, his love for his sister was more powerful than letting fear dominate him.

If she's 4 years old, she could've accidently done something threatening to the home, or the presance of the family of three was to close to its hunting grounds. I hope it doesn't wind up put down.

@Deepizzaguy That's always the risk, when wildlife attack people.

Not typical for foxes. They aren’t much bigger than a cat.

I agree with you since bravery according to a Vietnam war veteran who is now a self help speaker said something like "Bravery is doing what is right even if you scared to do it."

I agree with you since many war veterans have stated that bravery is doing something you do not want to do but doing what is right and hoping to succeed is what motivates them.

My pleasure to share this story of a brave teen who admitted that Divine intervention was involved since he does not how he managed to beat the fox,
