Since the pandemic affected us we are yet to come out of it. Due to spread of pandemic many cities/ places remained shut down and there was no economic activity and business of many was badly affected. However, when some relaxation has been given in the lock down economic activity is picking up gradually. I feel the prices of most of the commodities have gone up, in comparison to what were they before the start of the pandemic. Inflation has gone up. Interests rates have been reduced. Prices of most of the things, be it eatable, material goods, essential items, medicines, medical equipment and petrol/diesel/gas etc. have shoot up in the last one year. One needs to pay under the nose. Do you feel the affect of rising prices and how do you cope with it?

That is the cause of the increase of prices... how are goods transported? By trucks that need to refill.

@dpk262006 Yes, indeed.price of everything has increased and mostly middle class and poor people are affected. The income source was being shut for a long time and sudden increase when they don't have enough savings surely might be hard to cope with.

It gets really difficult for those who have limited income or whose income got affected due to lock down etc., to cope with ever increasing prices. How do you cope with it and limit your expenditure in this ever increasing price rise?

@CuriousGab It is good to hear that you do not spend money on unnecessary things and you believe in curtailing your expenditure.

As the cost of gasoline increased so much all the prices of the goods will increase because the transport is now more expensive.

That is right that increase in fuel price affect the price of other commodities. However, price of other items also rise due to some other factors. Due to lock down here the production has also affected and at some of the places the labor is at less strength. The gap is widening between supply and demand and it is leading to price rise.

For some things, yes. I prefer to shop online lately, even for groceries. Easier to get good discounts on many things.

It is good to hear that you get discounts when you do online shopping, this way you save money. Do you think that price of product is inflated first and then discounts are offered to lure the customers?

@dpk262006 If you monitor the prices closely then it's easy to notice such things. It hasn't happened that much as far as I know.

That's a huge issue right now. Fuel prices are soaring high. We had a very good control over our inflation from 2014 for few years but then right now everything seems to be in a mess.

@arunima25 It will take much time before the business becomes normal. Lockdown restrictions are still there at many places and business is going to be normal in the near future.

@dpk262006 The fuel price was hiked earlier too but somehow the inflation was not bad. Recently we can feel the pinch more. Hopefully, the pandemic gets under control, and businesses go back on track. People need to stay in business to earn and spend else the inflation will keep shooting up.

Yes, due to rising pricing, we have cut short some of our luxuries, as you have mentioned that you do not shop for apparels etc. as buying essential goods at this moment is more important than anything else.
