The Long, Long, Long Tail of the Long Tail Pangolin

United States

I wanted to write the Long Tale of the Long Tail Pangolin, but I decided this sounded much funnier in my head and I don't actually know any Pangolin tales. There is that super power they possess of spewing a rancid odor type substance from their anal area. While this might make for entertaining tales among the pangolin crowd--not so much for humans. Their scales are so cool, this picture doesn't do them justice, but it's the best free one I could find. Their conservation status is vulnerable and hopefully that will never go a step higher, though this video shows that might not be the case in the future. God bless you all! Have a good weekend. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Manis_tetradactyla_(29645778336).jpg
What are pangolins? If you’ve never heard of the pangolin, you’re not alone. This shy creature, as big as your cat or dog, is the world’s most trafficked mam...

@misunderstood_zombie I agree, poor thing, when you know that in some countries they eat them.

@LadyDuck It is sad and there are so many other foods for them to eat, for I believe the video says that only the rich can afford them.

That's horrible they're trafficked like that. It's good there are laws to protect them, but poachers will always get around the laws for their own gain. Thank you for sharing this. I didn't know about them.

@misunderstood_zombie It's all about greed. Tragic!

@just4him especially when they can't take it with them where they're going.

It boggles my mind that these people are knowingly decimating species and still they do not care at all.

Those animals are pretty harmless. Yet people still catch and sell them illegally.

They don't really stand a chance. It really is sad.

You could have made up a long tale, no one would would guess it was fiction. It sounded funny in my head too :) Wiki says it's vulnerable but populations are stable and they adapt well to changing conditions.

I could have made a long tale with many sequels in the future. I'm so glad they are stable for now.

@misunderstood_zombie So does that make it a short tale of a long tailed, long tail Pangolin?

We humans are the most horrible species at times. I haven't heard of these animals before. Thanks for sharing about them. Have a blessed weekend

We have such goodness in ourselves and then there's a great darkness in us too.

Pangolin scales are much sought after traditional medicine in some countries.

I'm also sad that they won't let them alone. The video states that the people who collect them also are the ones who collect endangered animas.
