I guess there isn't going to be a Father's Day gathering tomorrow

My parents, sister and her family, and I all live within 15 minutes of each other. (20 if I decide to follow the speed limit. Ha!) We get together for pretty much every holiday at someone's place. Tomorrow is Father's Day. Well said Father was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (irregular heart rhythm) back in the fall after his Apple Watch detected it and started blaring some alarm sound. He was put on blood thinners and had a procedure where they shock your heart back into the proper rhythm. It was successful but he still has been on blood thinners since then. They cause constant bruising and my mother is a nut about not being dependent upon medication so yesterday they did some kind of procedure where they insert a balloon-like apparatus into/next to (??) the heart to help combat the A-fib. This will allow him to get off of the blood thinners. He stayed in the hospital overnight and was discharged a couple of hours ago. Good things! That being said I haven't heard anything from anyone about tomorrow so I guess we aren't having dinner anywhere. I totally understand the need to rest and relax. I'm still trying to recover from last month's hospital stay!

It's better he's alive. I'm sure you can gather after he's recovered.

My husband has Afib and is on blood thinners. I hadn't heard about the balloon thingy. I hope your Dad will feel better soon.

He said last night that he feels fine. He was just tired because he wasn't really to sleep during the overnight in the hospital.

After this procedure, maybe your father will need to stay home and just relax.

@NJChicaa I would say that was very tiring for him and maybe he just wants to not celebrate it this year. Take care of yourself too and I believe you understand how he must feel after what you went through. I am sorry.
