Stupid end of year paperwork

or I should say "paperwork". I have spent the past hour working on documents for my end-of-year summative evaluation with my supervisor tomorrow. There is so much stupid stuff to complete. I spend hours doing it (started working on it last week!) and he spends like 5 minutes looking at it all. Then it all stays in the online employee portal never to be reviewed again. I am almost finished. I have 1 more document to update. My PIP: Professional Improvement Plan. I have to demonstrate that I achieved my improvment goals for the year and reflect on that. I honestly don't even remember what they were. I know I always include something about incorporating more technology into my teaching and communication with students. I definitely nailed that one this year. Then tomorrow I just have to upload a Word document with "evidence" that I complete all of my professional responsibilities. I really and truly hate Charlotte Danielson. I banged it out last week. I just have to figure out where to upload it. I only do this crap once a year so I waste a lot of time each May/June trying to remember how to do stuff. Then by the time I have to do it again the following year I have totally forgotten what to do. Every. Single. Time. Anyway it is almost all done.

It is such stupid crap. It has absolutely nothing to do with what I actually do in the classroom each day.

By next year they will be doing things totally different. The same thing happened to Jay, filling out paperwork for his job at the PO. To stick letters in a mail-box? To drive around is a little truck all day? Why do they need to know all his personal history, to find out if he has a criminal mind?

It is a waste of everyone's time. I don't want to do it. My boss doesn't want to read it. We don't like each other so we definitely don't want to sit down for a meeting. The good part about that though is that our meetings are usually like 5 minutes or less! hahaha

@NJChicaa And after you spend hours filling it out, they don't even read it!

@NJChicaa The same with my doctor's office, they want everything filled out! Whenever I ask about something, they have no record of it!

It seems like most “jobs” anymore are just filling out paperwork instead of actually doing the job.

She is a teacher or former teacher or whatever who came up with the Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching. It was supposed to be used as a tool for teachers to evaluate their methods, reflect on them, and improve. It was NOT designed as an official professional evaluation tool. So what did NJ do under that a-hole Chris Christie? Adopt it as the official standard for evaluation teachers.

@NJChicaa Well, one positive thing is that when you're done with that and your evaluation, you will be off for the summer! Yay!

You get to finish it soon. ... and then deal with it again next year. I suggest keeping a template.
