Interrupted Tangent taking pedant hijacking talk, Bullying you right off the playing field So often that you feel he’s out to stalk Your every attempt to socialize Taking conversation down a new path Just as a beaver dam reroutes the stream Down a new tributary for a laugh Leaving you in Munch’s silent Scream While he reigns as life and soul of the land Swatting you into insignificance Others fail to see, care or understand Feeding his loud ego’s magnificence You slip away, get your coat on, and go. Try explaining why, they don’t want to know. Arthur Chappell
