Missing dog rescued by New Jersey State police

New Jersey State Police Troopers Ryan Koehler and Vincent Ferdinandi were at the right place at the right time on Tuesday morning when they saw a Golden Retriever named Chunk who is three years of age was swimming at the Barnegat Bay. Chunk was reported missing by his owners Jim and Marie Zangana after their dog ran away from them on June 6 at a beach in Brick Township. The two troopers were alerted by two strangers on Tuesday morning that Chunk was seen swimming in the bay after he attempted to rescue the dog but Chunk ran away from them while they were jogging on a bridge near the bay. The two state troopers used a boat to rescue the dog and take him to shore. The owners of the dog were then contacted by the police to inform them of the good news that despite their dog missing for over two weeks, he is still healthy despite losing weight. A happy reunion of the lost dog and his owners became a reality thanks to the two joggers contacting the police who rescued the dog.
