Day 11 Genesis 18:1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; 2 And he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3 And said, “My Lord, if now I have found favor in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: 4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: 5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant.” And they said, “So do, as thou hast said.” 6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, “Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.” 7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetched a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. 8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat. 9 And they said unto him, “Where is Sarah thy wife?” And he said, “Behold, in the tent.” 10 And he said, “I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son.” And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. 12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, ‘After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?’ 13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, “Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? 14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” 15 Then Sarah denied, saying, “I laughed not;” for she was afraid. And he said, “Nay; but thou didst laugh.” How much time do you spend with God? Do you give Him your undivided attention for as long as He wants to spend with you? Or are you quick to get your study and prayer time finished so you can move on with your day? Three ‘men’ came to visit Abraham. Abraham knew who they were, Almighty God in the flesh, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He gave them honor as he bowed before them, and invited them to dine with him. They agreed and spent the day with Abraham. It took time to make bread, and cook a calf. God spent the entire day with Abraham and Sarah and told them what He told Abraham already, Sarah would have a son. As Abraham laughed the first time God told him he would have a son, so did Sarah laugh. God told her nothing was impossible with God. As Christians, many of you spend a token hour or two with God a week. Sometimes, you spend time with Him daily. Rarely will you spend an entire day in His presence. Abraham knew who came to him because He spent time with God daily, talking to Him and receiving instructions from Him. When you spend time with God, you know when He talks to you. You won’t question His instructions. It is clear Sarah spent time with God. She didn’t question what He said, only laughed that she would have pleasure at her age and bear a son. Is anything too hard for God? Do you question what He tells you? Do you question whether God told you to do something? If you question Him, you need to spend more time with Him. Then you will know when He speaks to you. Let’s pray: Father, help me spend more time in Your presence so I will know Your voice when You speak to me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. What I learn is that the Lord knows all our thoughts and can speak to us directly

I have not thought of that before, the three men, were God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It does make good sense. Abraham was certainly blessed to have the three-fold God appear to him like that. I do not think that that happened to anyone else in the Bible.

Not in that manner no. However, you see the 'angels' went to Lot to get him out of Sodom before God destroyed the cities.

Nothing is too hard for the Lord to grant it as He wills it. And I believe it.
