What about the rice fields in your country?

This is the view of the rice fields in my village .So green and beautiful. The crop now is peanuts. I often go to the fields to help my mother. I admit, it's hot in the fields, but going to the fields is always fun for me. I once had an interesting experience when in the rice fields, I once accidentally stepped on a snake. My reflex immediately screamed, there were people there, I felt very embarrassed. One more thing I'm afraid of when going to the rice fields is crabs. Rice fields always bring pleasant memories to me.

@Butterfingers I just know, but sadly never tried it. Because the rice varieties grown in my country are not the same type as basmatic rice, so maybe the taste will also be different.

@NurulKh Potatoes in the north and east of the country, noodles in the other parts. Rice is also eaten occasionally. It is imported.

There aren't any rice fields in the US. We have peanut fields, corn fields, wheat fields, watermelon fields, strawberry fields and sugarcane fields. (Those are the ones I know about because I grew up near them.)

Because rice fields need a lot of water, meanwhile peanut, corn, watermelon, strawberry including plants that do not require a lot of water. Is it difficult in America to irrigate fields?

@NurulKh No, a lot of fields have irrigation. People in the US don't want to work standing in water, though.

I love to see it from far rather than stepping into the fields. Real dangers of snakes, which am scared of. Never heard about crabs in fields, but snakes yes.

@S4mmyboy Actually, I'm not that brave either, and I think snakes in the fields are now rare because they're being hunted a lot

When I travel in train, I get to see wonderful agricultural fields. Your picture reminds of those scenes. Do people in Indonesia also consume rice as there staple food?

That makes sense, since most of Singapore is urban. Not like a big crab in the sea, but more like a small crab that has claws.

The photo doesn’t look like a rice field as I can remember it. That is scary to step on a snake. I am glad you were not bitten by the snake.
