Another favorite is my golden privet hedge. It is blooming now. The bees have found the pollen. The butterflies will soon as well.
This one is beside the rose of sharon in the front. Makes the yard smell so good. I would not mind having more of these. They are very low maintenance. And return each spring.
The type I have is called Amur North River Privet. Facts about this hedge:
The Most Popular Hedge-Shrub in the United States
Fast Growing Hedge
Beautiful Flowering Privacy Screen
Fragrant White Flowers in Spring
Butterfly Magnet
Can Be Trimmed to Any Size and Shape
Tiny Purple blooms Feed Birds
Grows in Full Sun or Partial Shade
Snapped this shot earlier today. The bees are arriving more each day.

How gorgeous! I can imagine laying out a small picnic near this bush and enjoying it's fragrance, the shade it provides as well. Of course, close enough to enjoy the fragrance and shade, but far enough away to not disturb the bees.

It looks beautiful. Do you trim it to let it look neat?

Very pretty. I'd like to have something that attracts bees and butterflies now that my butterfly bush is gone.
