A Job is Coming to Me

My hubby got a call from his friend asking if we know someone who can take care of her old mother. Hubby told me about it and I said that all my friends are busy with their work. Why not me?, I said.
Our friends‘ mother is bedridden and receives help from a nurse for her medication and bathing. She only needs someone who can prepare and bring her food in bed, do a bit of cleaning in the house and laundry.
I have done this caregiver part time job before in Germany and in Ireland a few years ago. I am interested to do so and I will be introduce tomorrow early morning to our friends mother. She is still mentally well as what my hubby told me as he knows her.
Well, this is a new challenge for me as I have not worked for years as caregiver. I might not be often on Mylot but I will try my best to be here.

Yes, it is a beautiful view that is why I am on my balcony most afternoon and evening when the weather is warm.

@thelme55 I do not blame you for spending time on the balcony. I would do the same. I like staring out my bedroom window at sunset because they have been gorgeous lately.

I feel like this opportunity has come to you both at the right time.
I know that you will feed her good nutritious food, and will be excellent company during your time there.
I hope that you are able to come to an agreement and start to assist as soon as she would like.

Thank you @DocAndersen. Most Filipino children are still taking good care of their old parents. Family is highlighted there. My siblings took good care of my old parents when they were still alive while my sister, my husband and I were supporting them financially as we could not do it because we are living here in Europe. The last months of my father on earth, I took good care of him as I stayed in the Philippines for a few months for him to care. That was the last thing I could do for my father.

These 2 days, I have not spent a lot of time on my balcony. Thank you @DianneN.
Yes, I am doing well with my new job and yes, I think I am a blessing for her. She is already wondering if her daughter will come this weekend to bring her lunch as her son (my hubby’s friend) is on vacation for 4 days. I have already prepared her breakfast bread for tomorrow and will be given by the professional caregiver who takes her to bath every day.

Good that it is not challenging but more of a caregiver without having to do the "heavy lifting".

The building in front of my balcony is where old people are living, who are receiving care. It is not a home for the aged but the apartments are suited for people with disabilities.
