Iguanas & Hurricane Elsa!

All of a sudden there seems to have been an explosion of Iguanas around. The thing is they are so well camouflaged you are almost on top of them before you know they are there! (Except for the 2-3 babies I have seen who are too fast running away to get a picture of!) These two didn't put their head up until I stepped on a branch alerting them I was around. As long as I didn't get too close they continued eating until they felt I was a danger to them and then they ran, very quickly, to the nearest tree and climbed it as fast as they could!
They really are fascinating to watch and so far they don't seem to do any harm to humans and/or animals but I binged the following
so if you want more information here you go!
Regarding Hurricane Elsa---right now we are having sunny, hot, humid weather with what looks like rain clouds starting to drift in. Most weather reports have Elsa missing us here in South Florida but not sure about North Florida. Here is the latest report: https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/fort-lauderdale/33301/tropical-weather-forecast/328168?eventkey=al052021
Will keep you up to date!
Are iguanas dangerous? This is an important question that many aspiring iguana owners have. I did a lot of research and will share my findings with you today.

@GreatMartin which is like what happened in this story. I wondered what happened to it. The owner probably released it into the wild when it grew too big too fast
A huge fish carcass was recently spotted at MacRitchie Reservoir. Netizens were quick to identify it as an Alligator Gar.

Too many people buy them as pets in a pet store and it isn't long before they realize they aren't dogs or cats and let them loose in the 'wild'!!

According to the National weather service, the coastal part of my county is under tropical storm watch. With Elsa planning to move into the area tonight or tomorrow, it's understandable.

Si relieved & glad, where you are is safe from hurricane Elsa! I never knew there were iguanas in Florida. Thought they were a Galopogus Island species.
