My friend says . . .

I have a friend that I mostly see online, although we used to meet in person. I love following her, she is talented, and energetic, and has adventures. The last week or so she has been telling us about various things her Alexa does or says, but the other day she topped them all. My friend says that Alexa was making farting noises, and then asked the friend if she should make louder ones. Friend said "no, please stop" and Alexa responded "okey dokey". I have more and more reasons not to want a smart home assistant. Strange.

I have no interest in one of those either. It bugs me knowing that onstar could be listening while we drive our vehicles and I AM that person who keeps their webcam lens covered while using the laptop. I don't want anyone to get more then they bargained for.

@marlina and @Juliaacv I almost never use my laptop, but I think I will get a sticker to cover the camera. At school we taped over them if the computer was not being used for remote learning.

Oh my, I have never wanted one in my home. Not safe at all in my opinion.

I have no use for them. I've heard too much about info being gathered that goes to no telling where. I don't need a spy in my home.

People in the 1960's: I don't want to be spied on, your phone could be tapped. People in the 2020's: Alexa. Make farting noises while you set my home security system.

Sounds like she added some joke things to her Alexa.

I do not think it was her. I guess it could be her hubby or son.

@GardenGerty There is many things you can add to them. They might be doing that to play with her

I didn't know that those things could start conversations on their own.
