I’m Exhausted…

...In more ways than one. So my Mom is still dealing with health issues. I’m too tired to practically write an essay on everything, so here’s a rundown: - She’s still dealing with nausea and loss of appetite. Now, we can add sore and at-times wobbly legs to the list. You can only imagine how nerve-wracking it was to start walking her up and down the stairs again, especially after seeing her fall in April. - We (Mom included) agreed to take her to the ER on Friday. It was decided after midnight that they were keeping her. - She was released yesterday, but was given a walker and recommended at-home physical therapy and to avoid stairs. - She is currently staying at my brother’s since she’ll have most of what she needs on one floor, plus there is more room for her physical therapy (it’s being set up; she hasn’t started yet). I don’t know how long she’ll be staying there, but it's not forever, and it’s a safer option for her right now. - We’re going to be taking her to the gastroenterologist as soon as possible, just waiting to hear back from our primary doctor (we all have the same one) on a referral. Otherwise, she’ll see him next week so they can get it then, but we’re trying to get it sooner so her appointment can be set up. Also, I’ve been misinformed, and the cardiologist doesn’t believe the hiatal hernia is causing the issues. Actually, none of the doctors believe it’s causing her stomach issues. The hernia is going to be eventually taken care of, but right now our focus is on the current problems. So as you can probably guess, I’ve been sort of stressed. We’ve all been stressed. Obviously, we all just want to get past this and have Mom feeling better, so we’re working on having everything addressed and taken care of as soon as possible. *Sigh* It’s been a long three months (as most of this started when she fell back in April). Also, I’m pretty sure a lot of my notifications have expired, but there’s not much I can do about that right now. I’m not sure if I’ll be posting tomorrow because of a longer writing order that needs my attention. With that being said, I’m going to wrap this up, finish this long writing order (it’s due tomorrow evening; I’d rather have it done now) and maybe watch Fear Street with one of my nieces before calling it a night. G’night or good morning. Stay safe and take care, everyone. Photo Credit: Pixabay.

Thank you so much. It's hard not to feel stressed when everyone has been worried, frustrated and dealing with this for weeks, but I'll try to destress. Thank you again.

Thank you so much! I hope so too. We all want her to feel better so that we can move on and she can enjoy things again. I'm hoping to be contacted about the referral tomorrow.

@tammys85 That is very understandable....it's really awful to have to wait for them to contact you for a ref feral, or appointment and such. Hopefully they will contact you tomorrow

I can understand the stress that you are going through now. We have the similar stress with our grandma. It is anytime to the hospital and we will need to wait for treatment, after treatment, then we would need to stay, then talk to doctor. The older generation tend to get misinformed and that they gave us the wrong information only to get more unnecessary walk or process.

With my Mom, I think she's just so stressed over this that she heard the cardiologist wrong. Her physical therapy starts on Thursday, and my sister is going to reschedule her appointment with our primary doctor, in which she's going to talk to him about a referral for a gastroenterologist. I just hate the waiting game; I want answers and treatment for her now. :(

It is sometime difficult to even get the specialist to respond. The nurses in wait do not have the knowledge to give the advice. Treatment generally will only start months after it had been detected somehow.

I hope they can figure out how to help her. I am sure it is frustrating for all the family as well as her.
