And so the saga continues

...Or, as my husband always says... "As the Peperoni turns" After being at Beville Road for several months, he was asked to work a couple shifts at Port Orange. Today so-happened to be one of those shifts. And, wouldn't you know it? Something really serious happened.... He came into a vandalized store. At first he thought it was a couple of boxes and someone had a temper tantrum. But later learned the bathroom had all but been destroyed. Pizza hut may not be around much longer if things like this continue. He told me, alarms haven't been in any of the units for the better part of a year. No security cameras, either. No obvious signs of a break-in, so an employee had to have done it during the over night hours after everyone had left. This is one of the few remaining dine ins and stand-alone buildings, so no one around to see.

Funny enough, that area isn't known for crime. Now if it were Holly hill.... no one would've been surprised.

@RasmaSandra He's got nine years to go before retirment. He's starting to step back so it won't be such a shock to the system.

That's horrible he walked into that. It will be difficult for the police to find out who did it.

Yes, it will. All because Pizza hut decided they didn't want to pay for security, or frequently change their back door access code.

They shut down the dining room last year because of COVID, and have been running it as a delco (Dilivary and carry out) only. No customers were in the building, and none would've been when my husband found the boxes scattered on the floor. He thought it were the end of it, but it wasn't until one of the female staff needed to use the ladies room, they found the other damage.

Will police be called to investigate on the issue?

They already have, but with no security they have nothing to work with. They can hope someone confesses to the crime.

No one will confess to the crime without any evidences. Best part of this is no security camera. I highly doubt that anyone will do so.

Late here . Oh gosh, how awful. Did they ever get the person/people who did this? Were they robbed or was it only vandalized? Hard to believe there were no alarms or cameras . . . sadly these security things are a necessity for businesses in our times. I hope no one got hurt.

@kaylachan Geez, I wonder why they would vandalize the place . . . maybe that person was upset at that Pizza Hut, their job? So sad someone felt they had to be so destructive but maybe they did that too knowing very well that there was no camera in place.

Just vandalized. No one was hurt, except maybe the person who did it. It happened after hours after everyone had left for the night. Pizza Hut's fault, really for not wanting to spend money on cameras or on Alarms.

That's too bad and silly that no cameras caught the dirty work done there. Was your husband able to work elsewhere instead that day or were they still able to be open?

They opened as usual. My husband discovered the boxes and just picked them up. He didn't know about the bathroom, until another female employee used the restroom and discovered the damage.

How horrible! Thank goodness no harm came to your hubs. You get what you pay for, Pizza Hut! In this day and age, everyone needs security cameras and alarms unfortunately.

Yes, I know! He's fine. They filed a police report, but the cops can't do anything due to lack of security.

No kidding. The area in question isn't known for crime. What makes it worse, stand-alone building in the dark. It had to have been done overnight.
