Purple hibiscus....have you seen?

Finally, the plant beared a flower. Every year around this time the plant bears this flower.. It is not native plant and it took lots of effort and care for the plant to survive.. many times it was under pest attack ... you can see..it's leaves are eaten by some pests also the petals are not in proper shape Probably the environment is not suitable for the plant but it still survived and have been giving flowers for past 3,4 years. We have pink, red, white and yellow hibiscus but I didn't knew such purple hibiscus exists too. So I immediately brought it home when I saw it. It got 2 more buds...hope those buds develop well.. Have you ever seen a purple hibiscus before or any other flower with colours which are very rare or not common.

So beautiful! I live on Oahu, and, on bus rides, I see purple hibiscus in one area, Salt Lake. The purple hibiscus I see is on this link.

@oahuwriter Indeed...all flowers are beautiful and we should appreciate it... But I do think we should not pluck flowers unless necessary. They look more beautiful with mother plant

@CuriousGab it's rare to plant, many choose to plant orchids, or productive plants, it's a pity, this flower is beautiful to look at

@ladyhero Yes,many choose commercial plants over such plants. There are many nature friendly plants which spread more oxygen than other plants....but they are always ignored. This plant also have some medicinal uses according to a site.

It is hybrid type of flower and plants are affected by climatic conditions, regions, temperature etc ... The other hibiscus which is common have long stamens and big petals..but the size of this flower is very small compared to them..the size of leaves is also small.

In Germany, hibiscus is a garden flower. In Italy it grows wild beside the roads and between the two lanes of motorways from north to south throughout the country.

@CuriousGab We don't have hibicus in our garden, but our neighbours do. We have big bushes of roses in front of the house. Nobody cares for them, but they bloom like mad every year.

@MALUSE That happens many times..those plants we take care of donot grow nicely..while the plants left without care grow pretty well.. Maybe Mother Earth nourishes them with her love

Climatic conditions in Germany and Italy are quite favorable for this plant.. Do you also have this or other flower plants..if you have a garden? They seem to be less popular in other areas

Usually the doubles are hybrid and the single ones are non hybrid. The red hibiscus with more than 5 petals is hybrid variety. But the one in my picture is also a hybrid variety...as the pruple colour is unusual...it is a hybrid too What colour hibiscus do you have?
