Took A Break...

... from work on Monday and Tuesday.
Monday, I took a leave from work to fix my national ID papers. It was done in a mall across my condo unit so going there was a breeze. I was scheduled for a 4:00pm appointment, I was there by 3:30pm and getting signed up was a breeze. The wait was long though. It took an hour to get my photos and biometrics taken. Had a bit of a problem with the actual photo. The software used was not detecting my face under all my facial hair. At least that was the explanation to me by the staff taking the photo.

After several attempts, a picture was taken finally, although it only read a 47% recognition. Technology nowadays, go figure. Beside the hall where they had the national ID processing, was a vaccination site. They had been experiencing a low turnout that they actually accept walk-ins. I had asked what the process was and what vaccine was being administered. One simply has to show up, fill up a form, download a vaccination tracking app, and line up. Easy. Only concern of mine is the vaccine brand is from the country that started this global pandemic so I politely declined. I did leave my contact number so that when they do have Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson&Johnson, they can advice me and I'll promptly show up.
So that was Monday for me. Tuesday was a holiday and although it was a holiday and I wasn't suppose to show up for work, I did attend our weekly Zoom meeting. Our recent manager, who has shown a genuine interest in helping out our team was canned for unknown reason. I wanted to get the 411 on that so I attended the meeting. You can tell from the other remaining managers and senior staff that they wanted him out because they were so jolly and upbeat. They opened the meeting and 'talked' about our manager leaving the business. They didn't say it but it had a 'If you ask further questions, you just might be following suit' tone. Oh well, I was really looking forward to working with the new manager. After the meeting, I lounged the rest of the day.
So counting the weekends, it was a nice little four-day break for me. I got to work out and train three of those four days so it ain't bad at all.
Take a break when you can and when you need to. Everyone deserves it.

Ain't Tuesday a holiday?
Is the national ID mandatory?
Glad you had a break.

Yes, Tuesday is a holiday. From what I have read, the national ID is mandatory. It will not replace the current IDs like SS, GSIS, driver's license or passport but it will be a help to an individual if he/she has the ID because it will have those information as well.

@allen0187 If it's mandatory, it means I have to secure mine. Though I do think my driver's license is enough identification.

@eileenleyva the idea is the national ID will have the info contained in the other IDs like the SSS number but it will not replace the actual SSS ID.
Getting the ID is fairly simple. You just have to fill up a form before hand. Wait for your turn to have your biometrics taken - iris and finger prints - and then the actual photo. The ID will be delivered to your home address within 3-6 months.

It has only been a couple of months working with him but I do appreciate what he has done so far. I guess, I was looking forward to what more could he had done for the team.

Good for you. It was suppose to be my rest day but since I'm starting a new post at work, I have to render overtime for the weekend - Saturday and Sunday - and work throughout the coming week. So no rest days for me until next weekend.

You also work to rest hahaha. When I talk about my rest, it is relatively to throw myself into bed and get up alone to the bathroom and the kitchen.

Sometimes I do that but I want to do something productive - something that I would earn from - when on my rest day.

You deserve to take some rest which I believe you didn't get due to the flooding. May I ask why you are applying for the national ID? I heard about it but lagged in the news.

I figured that since it is an acceptable form of identification, it is better to present this than other IDs like a driver's license or a passport.

There were vaccines that came in the past couple of days. As expected, it was all shuttled back to the home province of the sitting president - greedy, selfish people in government!!!
