Was unable to log in here yesterday, July 22, Thursday night , Manila time. Due to the typhoon and the stronger monsoon rains, it got flooded in our area. The flood water got in the house and it was ankle-deep. Certainly not how I want to spend my Thursday night. It happened so fast. Good thing we were able to get items to the second floor. We had to prop up our fridge on top of the dining chairs. We were barely finished when the flood water came in our home. Outside, the flood water was knee-deep and as you got closer to the road it rose up to chest-deep levels. After two hours and thirty minutes, the flood water started receding. I started cleaning up already to get rid of the flood water, mud, and dirt. The people at home though decided that it can wait this morning. Anyway, managed to clean almost 3/4 of the ground floor. Woke up this morning and I can hear them cleaning downstairs. Will just have to finish the first hour of my shift and then I'll go down to help out. If you are one of those who still don't believe in climate change, wake up. EDIT: Uploaded the photo that one of my mom took last Thursday, July 22. You can see that the fridge has been placed on top of the dining chairs. Had we not done this, the fridge would have been partly submerged by the flood water.

You had quite a lot of water, I am glad it receded, there are so many flooding around the world.

@CarolDM I remember in 2009 during Typhoon Ondoy. I had to evacuate my ailing grandmother from her home. We had to stay on the roof of our house for most part of the day. That was the first time it flooded in our area.

It's not an easy situation. I feel lucky since we never experience flooding here in our place. Hope you can manage

@rakski I had experiences with floods. Stayed on top of the roof the whole day during Typhoon Ondoy. That was the first, hopefully, it is the last.

I'm staying in my parent's place because they were staying in my condo. Then they went home here in their place and I went to my condo to have my national ID fixed. After that I went home to their place. They actually wanted to go to my condo that day but because of the rain, they decided not to push through.

@cacay1 that is quite expensive. I got my first one during pre-selling. The second one is an old unit and I'm the third owner so the price is cheaper. Condo living has its advantages and disadvantages though.

That is a good thing you have a second floor. The rain this storm brought was really a ton.

I thought you live on a condo. Good thing you managed to act fast. If not lots of items would be damaged.

I do live in a condo. This is my parent's place. I was there last Thursday and they were suppose to stay at my condo for the weekend. They didn't push through the last minute which was good.

Things are certainly changing around the world. I'm sorry you were affected by the typhoon and monsoon . . . it is something else to have to deal with flooding. I hope you can get all that cleaned up and dried. Stay safe and take care out there.

I really have been telling other Mylot users that the weather is strange worldwide. I hope it is not too late for us to reverse the climate change.
