Torrential Rains, Volcano Alert, & a 6.7 Earthquake!

Closed my eyes last night with my thoughts on the people possibly evacuating from potential flooding. The River, I read early on, has risen to 15 meters. The waters constantly rising. There was also a notice from Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology or PHIVOLCS about magmatic unrest characterized by seismic activity. Opened my eyes this morning in need of caffeine and just when I was about to sip my coffee, the earth quaked. It was a 6.7 tremor registered at 4:49 am location of which was from far off Calatagan, Batangas. That was a strong one. And since the sun had not shown it's self since mid day the other day, this could only be a DIRE FOREBODING. Now, could we get down on our knees and pray the Oration Imperata?

I also was awoken when it happened we were all sleeping quietly in our rooms when the first jolt didn't wake me up because I thought either my wife moved that made the bed shake. But I noticed that my wife didn't move so I partially opened my eyes and I can still feel like someone is shaking me. So I woke my wife to warn her what was happening. It was like we were swaying back and forth. Then after a few minutes, another wave came in I think it was longer than the first one but not that strong anymore.

@eileenleyva I guess we were on heightened alert at that time as we felt the second tremors about 10-20 minutes after the first one.

@rsa101 That is good. You are alert. I sat on my chair and had to be reminded of the 'duck, cover, and hold.' Sigh!

You must be on a high level to have felt the second tremor.

Far from the epicenter but the quake woke my daughter from sleep. House situated on higher grounds also. Thankful. Can't help but think about the people in the evacuation centers. The Delta Variant has come.

@LadyDuck Thanks. But my people are once again imperiled. My government is still nuts. The Delta Variant is also a serious danger to us now.

@eileenleyva I am glad you are not close to the epicenter. This year we are having all sort of natural disaster. The serious thunderstorms are back today in Germany and Switzerland. The Delta variant is in all European countries, I wonder when/if this will ever end.

The dams broke in China. The situation there is worse. At least here, we know that the flood will subside soon as the rain stops. But the rain ain't stopping yet. Still dark outside and it's been over 50 hours.

@id_peace The leadership was in Tibet yesterday. That's the highest peak on earth. Pretty safe from flood.

Yes the dam disaster is pretty much isolated. I think the Chinese government should be able to sort this out.

God even controls the rain, when we are faithful to humbly turn to him through prayer, asking for his mercy and grace. Forgiveness of all sin, this is the first step to communicating with God in heaven:)

I believe that. Thank you. Our good God have mercy on my people. We had been negligent with our environment, amiss with our prayers.

The entire island has been on high alert for some thirty six hours now. Luck will not change the situation. Prayers can.

We need that very much. As well as Maharashtra in India and many parts in China. Thank you very much for your prayers. Very comforting in these strange times.
