World War II veteran gets her wish come true

This story is incredible since Ima Black who is 100 years of age received her dream come true to ride in a helicopter courtesy of the United States Navy recently. Ima who lives in Winter Park Florida served in World War II as a member of the Women Accepted for Voluntary Emergency Service (WAVES) in 1942 until the end of the war. During the war, Ima met her future husband Delbert D. Black at a basketball game. Delbert served 30 years in the United States Navy reaching the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer before he retired to serve as an advocate for sailors and their families. Six years ago Ima was involved in the process of assisting the U S Navy to build a guided missile destroyer named after her husband Delbert D. Black. The ship that has the name of her now deceased husband was commissioned in Port Canaveral Florida in 2020. When Ima reached her 100th birthday, an U S Navy executive as a form of thanking her for her service to our nation by asking her what was her wish. Ima wanted to fly in a U S Navy helicopter since getting a ride in a submarine was not an option since civilians are forbidden to ride inside of a submarine. The U S Navy officials granted her wish. To put it mildly Ima is one very happy person.
