I had picked up just one rhizome of a turmeric plant from my mother's garden years ago and that multiplied as the first rhizomes that I produced were separated and planted in a row and the next year I repeated the process which gave me loads of turmeric - 20 kilos. The raw turmeric is thoroughly washed, and boiled. It is chopped fine and dried in the sun Once dry it is put in the liquidizer. This powder lasts for a whole year or more.

This is awesome. Turmeric has a lot of health benefits. And fresh turmeric like this is very difficult to get in the market. I think raw turmeric is also used in cooking or making pickles. Never seen it but have heard.

I use turmeric powder a lot at home, mostly for cooking. Is it hard to grow them?

That's a good drink. Just add hot water and you have a tea.
