It's RAGBRAI Time Again (MyLot Exclusive #577)

RAGBRAI ((Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, LINK BELOW)) started on Sunday and for the 48th year in a row, I'm not participating.
It's not because I have anything against bicycles, rides or Iowa, because I don't. For me, it's a moral and ethical issue. It's the same reason I don't write songs.
Kids like Paul McCartney and Paul Simon have worked hard and carved out kind of successful careers in the songwriting business and it would be wrong for me to get them fired just because I can do it better than them.
I don't know any rich successful bicyclists, except for Lance Armstrong and he's retired now but there must be others and I refuse to render them unemployable by entering a bike race.
So I'll follow the race in the newspapers but that's as far as I go.

We need to Support the Bicycle race, it is not just a race it's environmental awareness.

Long ago when I was working in a regular job, that is what I had said aloud in office because I had seen cost of bus ticket move up from 25 naya paise to 1.50 INR in a span of less than 10 years. I thought we Indians can never manage that kinda inflation. The reasons were different, but well, I was laughed at.
