Weight Loss Journey 2021 - July 30th (Failure and things to buy)

I tried my best to stay at least low carb...but it was sort of a failure. Weigh in - I went up to 189 on the scale. (dun dun dun....) Blood sugars - Woke up at 231 Meal 1 - 183 Meal 2 - 189 Meal 3 - 238 What did I eat? Meal 1 - sandwich with the "keto" bread After that I had some choc zero raspberry flavored chocolate (1 oz) Meal 2 - Costco hot dog (1/4 pound) and some Keto Fries. Meal 3 - Chicken cordon bleu (breaded) another oz of the chocolate Halo top ice cream bar (not as low carb as I thought) I didn't track anything except for meal # 1. Tomorrow will be a carb day, although I may only have 1 meal, not sure yet. Will be back to actual "keto" Sunday. So, the things I want to buy to help in my Keto journey? 1 - Iced coffee maker; my friend always sends me ground coffee but I hate making a big pot of coffee, but I figure making an iced coffee in just a couple minutes would be worth it. 2. Mashed potato flavor (yes there is a thing). I figured I could add that to my keto "fries" recipe and it might give it a more potatoey flavor. They are good as they are but definitely don't taste like potatoes lol Thinking of other things I could add. Ideas? Don't say fruits and veggies lol!

Your sugars are pretty consistent throughout the day. you don't have peaks and valleys? what is your sugar like between meal 1 and meal 2 (stable or does it go down)?

Consistently bad, yes....sadly. I have peaks.... lol I don't check it between the meals. One reason I need a CGM!! Well, not a true cgm...but at least something I can check more often then the finger tests.

@DocAndersen Yes it would....I would probably check every 15 minutes after eating lol The doctor said he'd check into it, but I don't see that happening. He has that I am supposed to be on ozempic, but he NEVER sent it in...even though that was back in January!! I don't believe he'll do anything he really says :(

@MommyOfEli2013 i agree a CGM really helps in that case. For example, after a meal that sugar always goes about (figure pre-meal plus 20 minutes). that is what a CGM helps you with!

@MommyOfEli2013 Set a rule for yourself that when you are craving something you will take a walk or dance or anything else you like doing for at last 10 minutes to see if the craving passes. I get my worst cravings when I am not doing anything.

When you don't stick to your plan, your numbers are out of control.

Doesn't seem to matter what I do, unless I want to cut out the carbs completely and I don't...

I wish I could suggest something; but there are so many things you don't/won't eat.

I don't think that you failed. When you started a new lifestyle it takes time for your body to adjust so normally you wont get any results. As long as you don't give up so you will be rewarded for sure.

Well seeing no results does not make me want to stick to it...
