That mylot funk

Many of you will recall a few weeks ago when, for a few weeks, I was not feeling it. By that I mean I felt happy enough to come here, but was burnt out on the interaction.
Things have changed recently and I feel like being here more. I realized recently that a lot of my hesitancy was due to the pressure I was putting on myself in other parts of my life. Namely my writing. I feel much better doing it for myself than I ever did trying to force a story out. That isn't to say I won't publish again, but I will not give myself a deadline any longer.
With that being said, last night (or earlier today, I forget which) I got rid of Canva. Canva, along with ProWritingAid, were two tools that I paid for to help me in my writing. Canva was for book covers, ProWritingAid for editing. I will retain $12 a month now with the cancellation of Canva.
That is money that will go towards my credit card or other bills. I feel liberated.
Have you had a liberating moment recently?

Welcome back!
My liberating moment took place just over a year ago, when I finally felt I had enough at my career job and announced my retirement after 20 years. The weight of the stress and frustration that was lifted off of my shoulders was almost immediate, and I knew without a doubt I made the right decision.

That's one of the hardest decisions to make though. Change of careers, leaving a life-long or very long career... I was at a store for 6.5 years and had dealt with a lot of their crap before I finally said sayonara.

@moffittjc Made the last five years drag by I am sure. I bet you also started feeling more nitpicky and seeing some things for what they are when before you were just so accustomed to it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It wasn't a hard decision for me to make once I got to the 20-year mark. The hard part for me was between years 15-20. I pretty much wanted out at about the 15 year mark, but didn't want to throw all those years away when I could just hang in there for 5 more years and qualify for a full pension.

Good for you! I got my dentist appointment out of the way. Does that count? :-)

@LindaOHio Oh I know, but I have no insurance... I could possibly qualify for medicaid, but am unsure. My poor cousin (the one who is dying) had a hard time getting medicaid and she had valid reasoning.

I need to be here a little more... The most fun place to earn a few cents while giving your two cents.

Yes, and it took me too long to realize it. I was not happy at all and felt like I had no time to do things for myself.

It seems like a once a year thing for me.
