Good day myLotters. Just want to share the experience of my sibs when they got the vaccine last Tuesday. They registered in our local baranggay last week. Plus, over the weekedn, i submitted their names and details to a college buddy of mine who works in our local government. Monday evening, both of them got a SMS notification infroming them that their schedule for their vaccine is the nxt day, Tuesday. Their timeslot is at 11:00am and the vaccination site is one of the malls near our area. On the day of the vaccination, they left home early as they were expecting a long queue for the vaccine. They were not prepared for what they saw when they arrived at the vacciantion site. There was a very long queue. Apparently, the appointment was not followed anymore. It was very disorganized. They were left with no choice but to stand in line. After five hours, they were still in line. I had kept in contact with them via chat and it was clear that they mght stay until evening staying in line. I was also concerned that they might end up not getting vaccinated or worse, they might get infected as the basic social distancing was very hard to implement. I contacted my friend and told her the situation in this particular vaccine site. After hearing it, she dispatched a team to go to the site to help in the faster vaccine roll-out. She had also gotten in touch with my siblings to help them out. She gave them instructions and seeing that they had gotten a text and an actual time slot for their vaccine schedule, they were ushered and were done with their vaccines in a little less than thirty minutes. My friend's team is looking into the matter to prevent it from happening again. They want to make sure that the confusion in that vaccination site doesn't happen in other vacciantion sites in the city. Otherwise, what should be a means to help stop this pandemic will turn out to be a super spreader and get more people infected. Such is the dismal state of how this government is handling this crisis.

@allen0187 That was nice that your friend stepped in and helped. It sounds like it was a mess. I hope they find out what went wrong.

It is the same in other cities. There are photos and videos showing people running towards the vaccination sites as early as 2:00am to get in line in the hope of getting vaccinated.

@Hannihar we have appointments here as well. In fact, my siblings got a text notification about their schedule. However, those schedules aren't followed.

@allen0187 I heard from a friend where we live in the same city, that in here, the queueing is so bad and there is no one to monitor the vital signs, you just have to check your temp and that is it

This should not have happened if several people were given SMS at different times after the previous queue had almost run out.

5 hours of queueing? Gosh that is too long. If the centre accepts walk-ins the least they could do is open different lanes for the ones with and without appointments. I hope your friend could bring the issue to the authority's attention.

True. It is indeed an unreasonable time. They were working on it already yesterday. Hope the changes are implemented soon.

I am very sorry. Although there are places where that happens where I live, I had no problem. I finished in less than 30 minutes and thevaccination site had set chairs so that we could wait. They also gave numbers.

It's good your friend was able to help but what you say is so true. Standing around for so long would not be good at all

True, that is why I am thankful for her. Definitely needs to improvehow the vaccine roll-out is done. People can't spend their whole day getting vaccinated.
