Good day fellow myLotters. Today is the day of the beginning of the third season of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). For my foreigner friends here in myLot, the ECQ is the term given by this inept government for a hard lockdown. Not sure if there is soft lockdown or a mildly-scrambled lockdown but you get the drift. So far, the only thing that the lockdown has accomplished is bestowing to the Philippines the title and (dis)honor of having the longest lockdown in the world. You want to know how crazy our lockdown is? We have checkpoints and a curfew imposed. As if when the authorities open the trunk of a vehicle, they will see the Delta virus there. The curfew is from 8:00pm to 4:00am. Yup, the Delta virus is only active during those hours. Such geniuses! Instead of scientists and medical personnel, we have soldiers and police officers leading the campaign against this pandemic. Yup, let's shoot down those viruses and variants. I'm not surprised, even the sitting president said on a televised interview that he will slap the virus. How friggin' silly is that? More than a lockdown we need a more accurate way of contact tracing, more supplies of vaccines, and a more organized vaccination roll-out. Going back to the APOR requirements, by the way APOR means Authorized Person Outside the Residence, (see our government is good in coming up with these acronyms) are their ID, vaccination card, three strands of their hair, a childhood picture of them when they were two, five golden rings, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree. Rant over!

I got my quarantine pass earlier. It is a smaller version of the original one and this one is laminated. Didn't bother reading the fine print. Will check it later.

Haha, Very accurate description of what is happening to our lockdown 3.0. The main thing that is also funny about this is how they formulate their policy. On the first day, this one is allowed then the next day a new rule is set, and so on and so forth.

I think that doctors and nurses would be more appropriate than police officers, this campaign is just weird!

True. Reminds me of sci-fi disaster movies. Governments never listen to scientists until it is too late.

@allen0187 the police made it compulsory if anyone wants to shop. Or ask people to stay home.

Luckily we don't have anything silly like that here, good luck enforcing it anyway..but just uneven regulations all the way around. The states that need lockdowns and mandates the most are doing nothing about it, even striking down mask mandates. It is all pretty darn goofy and sad really.

Indeed it is. Not sure if the world is crazy before and we only get to see it first hand because of the pandemic or the pandemic made the world a lot crazier.

I think the point of imposing a curfew is to to limit people from going or gathering outside during such hours. You know how hard headed the people can be. This time around is not a joke and we can't just taken lightly the threat but honestly it really causes difficulty to us. However, I understand your sentiments.

@ZedSmart it is the government that is not taking this pandemic seriously.

Have you seen people go out needlessly at night? Honestly. The only joke here in the government and the people that still think they are doing something to stop this pandemic.

@allen0187 If there are no restrictions and businesses were open at night I would say that people would still go out for pleasure even with the current situation especially in city life. Some people think that it's still normal. We cannot point fingers to the government alone. Some people still think that this pandemic is not serious.
