Might go on a short getaway

Hubby wanted to go away somewhere Saturday night into Wednesday. I've been trying to find some bed and breakfast or lodge not too far from us. Or maybe a resort of sorts. Having a hard time finding something. Either there is no availability for the dates I choose or there is availability but the prices per night are very high. I don't want to spend $200 or more a night. Or even anywhere near $200. Makes no sense.
I did find one bed and breakfast that has some reasonably priced rooms. And you get a buffet-style breakfast. Seems like the territory has beautiful views and there are things to do nearby. There may even be some things we can do on the premises but have to double check that.
I told hubby about it. Not sure if he was able to look at their website or not. Will ask when he gets home. If he will not want to go there I have no idea what else to choose. I am not great with finding stuff like that.

I hope you get that one you mentioned. Same here nothing under $200 and if so it is a dive.

I would like that but hubby doesn't wanna stay there. I hope we end up booking something in the end and go away somewhere otherwise he will be upset probably. Happened once before where we looked at houses to rent and then we never pulled the trigger and ended up not going anywhere.

I have always found that B&Bs can be expensive in general. I have had better luck finding deals using AirB&B and Vrbo. I wish you the best of luck in finding a great place at a reasonable price. It would be nice for you and hubby to be able to get away for a couple of days.

@lovebuglena As far as I know they just have houses/townhouses/condos for rent.

@moffittjc When you go the filters there are more than just those three options. I don't remember what the rest are.

Does airbnb have bed and breakfast places? From what we looked at yesterday seems it's just houses.

We always prefer the ones that offer buffet-style breakfast, I think it's very convenient. Looks like you found a good deal, especially if the view is nice and there are attractions nearby. I hope your husband likes it.

Best of luck in finding something you can both enjoy, Have you thought about checking out place in the Catskills or the Poconos in Pennsylvania depending on how far you want to go, I always loved the Catskills,

@lovebuglena I don't know how expensive it might be but a lovely place is Lake George, I have enjoyed it many times, They have some cheaper motels, attractions, restaurants everywhere and a great big lake Lake George,

@RasmaSandra I thought about that but it is a long drive there. From what I remember 5-6 hours. I don't want to drive that long.

The place I found is in the Catskills area. That was the only place I found that had availability and had a room that didn't cost a lot. And it offered breakfast, which is a huge plus. He doesn't seem to want to go there.
He was looking for places on airbnb. Those seem to be houses/cottages. He wants something by a lake. Those won't include breakfast of course. That's not a big deal as long as there is some places nearby we can go eat. I do not want to buy food to bring there and then cook.

Sounds like fun. Too bad I'm not there. I LOVE to do research and find unusual places to go. Hotel/motel rooms are expensive these days. I had sticker shock when I found out what rooms were going for in the Keys these days.

I wanted to find a bed and breakfast. They are usually charming and you do not have to worry about breakfast as it's provided.
He doesn't want to go to the place I found. He was looking for stuff on airbnb. Those places will of course not have breakfast. We are on our own with that. If we choose something from there I wanna make sure that there are places nearby were we can go eat. Also wanna make sure there is stuff to do nearby. I don't just wanna sit in the house or spend all the time at the lake. He wants the place to be by a lake.

@LindaOHio It gets boring and exhausting even, doing nothing but sitting on a chair or on the ground and for hours and hours, even when reading.

Yeah, that is what it seems. This one is surrounded by trees and greenery, which is what I like.
