The recent Olympics in Tokyo was the best of times and also the worst of times in recent history. It is still called Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 reminding us of the lost year but, sadly, still continuing. All celebrations are muted, well, masked to highlight our smarting from the unseen stalker that stretches its tentacles to every corner of our existence. We cannot wait to break free as we look back wistfully on a life that we took for granted. These are testing times for our patience too. I was a bit apprehensive that it would end up as a fiasco but the organizers were up to the task though there were no spectators on the stands to cheer and pump up the athletes but they carried on stoically nevertheless. We had something to cheer for a few days and for me the Olympic Spirit permeated the atmosphere. The participants represented the best in humanity as those who sow discord knew they did not belong in the camaraderie and spontaneity. They would have felt lost, out of place, not their playground at all! And one quote replays in my mind even as the Games are a memory now: "Later, when the US coach, Gregg Popovich, was asked about the significance of the US and Iran sharing a court together, and why sport gets it right when politics and diplomacy often gets it so wrong, he hit the nail on the head. “I am not the secretary of state so I am not sure what you are looking for,” he replied. “But, in general, I think people from different countries get along better than their governments. People appreciate each other, no matter what country you are talking about. I really believe that. And this is a time where sport transcends all that petty crap you get from governments.” Let me live the dream of oneness of humanity highlighted by the uniqueness amidst diversity in us. Let us honor our creator thereby. Image: Oneness of Humanity from free media site Pexels

@Shiva49 That would be fine but it couldn't be due to diversity of attitude.

That I have found to be true during my living in a few countries. The oneness overrides the outward differences that are magnified by a manipulative few for selfish interests.

Yes, we need to be sure that we never lose our uniqueness, in the blandness of oneness's soup, but at the same time, by placing ourselves back into oneness, we will enhance the taste of that soup, for everyone else then too, including ourselves. We all drink from the same drinking bowl, and we all live in this world together. There is room for both oneness and individuality then, in this world of oneness, that we all experience individually then too, but which only works for all of us, if we stay united in our oneness, as well.

@Shiva49 Yes, we do need to be ourselves, but not leave our original bootcamp either. "Live, and let other live", says it well.

That was what it was meant to be. We need our private space but also find common ground to revel in the oneness. We can learn from other species how they manage both - live and let others live.

We reap what we sow and that is fair enough. And we know what we need to sow and it comes naturally too, but we are bigoted.

Yes, some are really badly hit as they have no income. And children are affected too as online learning is not like going to school, university. Some countries just do not care for anyone while there are those who just criticize while enjoying the freedom to do so.
