Shooting star appears in night then make a wish

Some of you may have heard elder people saying when a shooting star appears in night then you should make a wish. Or you might seen in a movie that shooting star appears and people start making wishes.
Does the wish comes true. First of all let us talk about a shooting star. Shooting star are small meteors which comes from space and enter the earth at high velocity and seems like straight line. In some sites I have studied that thousands of shooting stars can be seen in different parts of world. But in my life I have never seen a shooting star.
If you have seen a shooting star then did you asked a wish and the wish came true or not??

I make a wish always on seeing the first star and falling stars. This keeps me hopeful, for how often do you see them, so when you do see them, to inviting you to make a wish, as if to remind you, don't give up, make a wish on me.

I saw shooting stars when I was a child. I haven't seen any in many years. I did make wishes on them as a child. No, they never came true.
