Persuaded to get inside the supermarket...

Out of supplies, my elder daughter and I made a rush to the supermarket.
For a year now, I simply stayed in the car while my daughter does the grocery. I wouldn't risk catching the virus.
But today, the parking area was not even full. There must be a few shoppers inside, I thought. My daughter urged me to come so I can pick snacks I like.
I obliged.
True enough, there was a minimal number of shoppers. A strict protocol was in place. Carts are disinfected before being handed to the customers.
I had a fun time checking on new products, marveling at the sky-high prices, picking a pack just to put it back on the shelf again. Too expensive!
The goods we purchased amounted to quite a sum! Used to be a budget for a month, now it's just for two weeks.
Availed of the buy-one-take-one muffins promo and gave the take-one to my nephew.
When we got home, two boxes of pizza await us, courtesy of doctor wishing my younger daughter complete healing.
Not only that, the baranggay also sent us 5 kilos of rice, five Bingo corned beef, five Fresca tuna, energy drinks in sachets, Birch Tree powder milk in sachets, generic vitamin C, and three Milo tetrapacks.
Ain't that a blessing!
Of course, will drop by the village guard tomorrow and share him the 'ayuda.'

@rakski Including the security guards and the salespeople at the kiosks, probably a hundred people. The cold ambiance suited me just fine.

Yup. It was a good feeling. The supermarket was cleaner than my house!
I got to exercise my legs longer.
Online shopping is limited to KN94 masks and the like.

@eileenleyva I see something good that this pandemic created was that many are into hygienic practices that we used to take for granted before. Another good thing is the goodies you receive from our local government as "Ayuda". It is nice that you share the excess with the people around you. We also do that when we are given that. We usually give them to our guards in the lobby since they really deserve to be given those for their hard work almost 24/7.

@rsa101 Here's the AYUDA for the security guard. He needs the package more than I do.
Not in the box are the face masks and shield. Giving the stuff to my nephew who had not bee out of the house, too.

@m_audrey6788 I was surprised I enjoyed the activity. Perhaps a reaction from the cabin fever syndrome.

An ocular count shows there were some twenty people going round the aisles. Another twenty were waiting for food at the kiosk. All the rest were supermarket employees.
Glad I was persuaded to go up, it would have been another boring time sitting at the car. Plus, I saved gas.

It would be a sin if I don't share. Remember the manna in the dessert? The people were told to get only what they can consume for a day.
What we cannot eat today belongs to another.
Supermarket is neat and clean first hour Wednesday.

Yes, the local government attends to our needs. Last year, during the first lockdown, the 'ayuda' came every two weeks.
I also wish other countries allot 'ayuda' to their people. It's the least the government can do for the people.
That 'ayuda' pack can feed a family for two weeks at most. So tomorrow, will give it to our village guard. He looks troubled for sometime now. Perhaps he needs something to cheer him up.

Am like you when it comes to avoiding crowds. That is why I do not enjoy 'malling' even before the pandemia.
That Sunday is a work day in your country is something strange for us. You have no weekends?

A full cart is a blessing.
I know the prices are going up here too.
I am so glad you got this little time to move around the store.
I had not yet been inside myself yet.

I got my elder daughter to thank for all the supplies we need. She provides the family with real good nourishment.
But the prices are staggering. Left me wondering again and again how the ordinary people are coping.
No rush getting inside the supermarket, only when you believe the premises are safe and clean.

That's right. The prices went up. The budget for one month before, now it is only good for 2 weeks.

It's scary because of the surge of covid patients. One time I did went in they make us write a covid19 survey track form.

Those lengthy forms are really a bother when people go out for inoculation or swab test or whatever.
Stay safe. The surge is taking the hospitals by storm. The medical crew are up to their wits' end. Let us help them fight this health crisis.

@Letranknight2015 The pandemia is everybody's health crisis. It is incumbent upon each and everyone of us to inform our health centers or our baranggay that we are infected with the disease. No shame in telling. In fact, it is a very responsible act.
Doing so means you care for your fellowman.

@eileenleyva Some people don't do the surveys anymore and that's how the surge probably spread. I mean who would come voluntarily and say they have covid? I feel sorry for all the medical personnel, they are all exhausted. My cousin who is a nurse got infected with covid19 twice.

Baranggay is mandated by law to look out for persons in isolation - provide nourishment, medicine, collect CoViD waste like masks.

Sharing the blessings with the village security guard at the entrance of our subdivision. He seems troubled lately.
