Just call Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) deputy William Mellana a guardian angel for a high school student who attends Wharton High School in Tampa Florida who collapsed on campus grounds on August 17. A fellow student who was with the student whose name was not mentioned started to breathe in a strange way before he collapsed on the floor, Officer Mellina who has been trained in first aid when he was in the police academy answered the call from the student to take action to revive the student who passed out. Officer Mellina made the call for emergency personnel to assist the student who passed out while Officer Mellina used a defibrillator to revive the victim to the teens chest area. Officer Mellina also used CPR for several minutes in an attempt to revive the student until the Tampa Fire Rescue firefighters took the teen student to the AdventHealth Wesley Chapel. The good news is that the student who collapsed on the school campus has recovered and released from the hospital. However the student will have to go more medical treatment for what was the caused him to pass out in the first place. The mom of the student who passed out on campus thanked the deputy and his fellow officers for saving the life of her son. Resource officers are wonderful persons whose work in saving lives is priceless.

I am sure that the student who passed out will be okay since he probably fainted due to heat exposure or ,low blood sugar.

Proof that basic first aid and CPR training is important.

The student will likely have to take medicines to cure his illness.

Lord willing what my relatives are seeing on television and outside, since the birds that are in the backyard are around at this time, it appears that the area will just get some breezy weather and light rain on Sunday. Blackouts will be a rare event according to the local weather reporrs.

What a heroic story. I hope the teen is okay. Maybe dehydration or heat stroke?

@Deepizzaguy I agree. Easily treatable with plenty of fluids.

Most likely heatstroke, low blood sugar or lack of water in his system.
