The 2021 Indiana portion of the Putt Putt season is officially over. Our state finals, the 25th annual finals, were held in Columbus, Indiana. I call Randy Reeves "the Hall of Famer," and for good reason. He is an amazing player, and he's hardly been resting on his laurels. This year, among his accomplishments, he set a record with a 62 for a three-round tournament. I hate to throw math at you, but here's the perspective: a three-round tournament is 54 holes. A "perfect" score would be 54. Yeah, he's that good. But wait, there's more! For the finals he shot a 90 yesterday, and followed it today with a 93, for a two-day, eight round total of 183 (or, one hundred and five UNDER par). It is a new record low score for an eight-round event. Needless to say, he took his second Pro state title trophy back to Alabama with him. Did I say "Alabama"? YES. He's from Alabama. He plays on our tour, the Southern Tour, and other tours. No wonder he's a Hall of Famer! In the APA (my division, the amateurs) side of things, my good friend Jeff Brown showed up in a walking boot because of a diabetes-related injury. A walking boot. And he proceeded to win his third IPT state title. In a walking boot. Other tours are still going, and the Putt Putt Nationals are next month in North Carolina. But our state tournament season is over. We're looking to add my home course back next year, with finals in Kentucky (Erlanger) as well. And we're going back to Kingsport, Tennessee. Everyone fell in love with that course after a national event last year, so with our ever-dwindling course list (we have lost Springfield, Ohio and Richmond, Indiana in the last few years) we're happy to make the trek to play it. As you can see from the photo, this sport is for the birds. I love this sport, and I love these guys. I can't wait for the 2022 season!!!

We weren’t too far from your old stomping ground of Bloomington, either!

Some players in any game come up with some incredible scores from time to time. That's good that you can add a couple of new courses.
