YES, THIS ONE! If the title of the Sedaka song threw you off, fear not, The Rolling Stones will set you straight. Nothing to be surprised about here, in any regard, as I give you the next song on my list of favorites by the legendary rockers.
#5: Angie
NO, NOT THAT ONE! According to Picky Wedia, this really isn’t about David Bowie’s wife at the time. Keith Richards started the song and wrote most of it, and it was just a random name. (His daughter, born after the song was written, was named Angela.) Jagger said his contributions were based on his breakup with Marianne Faithful.
What resulted, regardless of the inspiration, was one of the Stones’ most enduring ballads.
