It’s time to close the book on my list of favorite songs by the legendary Neil Sedaka. If he isn’t your cup of tea, thanks for stopping by anyway. Here’s my favorite Sedaka tune….by a LONG mile.
#1: Stephen
My HR-V’s name was taken from this song. Yeah, I like it. A LOT.
If it sounds like a love song, it is. The affection is directed toward the “father of American popular music,” Mr. Stephen Foster. The man who gave us songs from the silly (“Camptown Races”) to the sublime (“Beautiful Dreamer”) influenced popular music more than we can imagine.
And Sedaka knows it. So, he paid a loving tribute to Foster with this gorgeous ballad.
Thanks for being Foster’s voice and hands, Neil.

Good tribute never heard this before, I lived the title song of the album The Hungry Years always get me sentimental
