Mullah Nasruddin's wife was riding the Mullah's donkey down the main street of their village. Someone asked her, "Why is the Mullah allowing you to ride his donkey?" "After all, he always says that nobody is allowed to ride it, but himself." The Mullah's wife simply replied. "His wife lives by her rules, not his rules." Then, the Mullah, running up behind her, shouted out. "My donkey listens more to other donkeys than to me." The wife looked at the Mullah, and said. "Hee-haw." To the others, now gathering around, she said: "A donkey never rides a donkey, but a real donkey runs behind one, wanting a donkey ride." The Mullah, seeing the humour, in his wife's reply said: "Yeehaw, to your heehaw." And with that, the Mullah grabbed the lead of his donkey, and lead his two donkeys home. It is true animals actually listen to other animals more than people. My old German Shepherd could scold my Brookers way better than I or sister or brother can.

That was an insightful comment by the Mullah then too. I was thinking that it was only humorous only...lol... (The Mullah referring to his wife as a donkey, so saying that his donkey would listen to her more, than it listened to him, who was not a donkey.)

@crossbones27 Well, he was wearing a rug, so that's halfway to a hug, I guess.

@innertalks it was from a blogging site where a woman blogs about MS and she makes the post creatively as through handknitted donkeys with the main one being Dizzy and she gave out his sister Dotty and I won her.

@RasmaSandra Oh, I had a look. Cute donkeys. That's a good idea to promote a blog, to give out prizes, like that.

the sad reality of sexism and of course the reality of relationships that are not equal. we live by our rules (what the married person should say). Our rules, our combined goals - it is truly what all should strive for in the end.

Yes, it is improving slowly over time, l think, though, unless we are living in some place like Afghanistan. Yes, we should be equals in a marriage, not somebody's slave, or donkey, or somebody to be put down, or ridiculed. "When women criticized men, I called it 'insight'... When men criticized women, I called it 'sexism' and 'backlash.'" Warren Farrell, an American writer said that. I guess sexism goes both ways. We all want to live by our own rules, as in my story, but if we had combined rules, and goals, as you said, how much better, relationships would then be. There are songs that hint of sexism too. I remember the words of one song that went: "A man without a love is only half a man, but a woman is nothing at all." Sexism can be found in the most unlikely of places then, even in humour.
