Would you spoil and pamper your kids?

I think this has been a problem since ancient days. Children are too cute. Some parents just cannot resist the temptation to spoil and pamper the kid. What happens as a result? Such kids grow up being selfish, arrogant, obstinate. They will take everyone for granted, devoid of empathy. Some such kids may even resort to crime. It is enough if they get whatever they want , no matter what happens to others. I feel spoiling and pampering the kid is highly dangerous. Love and affection is different. When love and affection crosses the boundaries, it becomes pampering.

It's OK to spoil and pamper children at times as long as they are taught to appreciate it and not expect. I like to spoil my children when I can because I want them to have better than I did. However, they always understand if they can't have something and they wouldn't make a fuss. I think there's a difference between occasionally spoiling a child who appreciates it and raising a child to demand and expect everything they want.
