There was a time we treated the dictionary with such respect that it had the pride of place in our library We had the Oxford English dictionary as also German into English dictionary as I was learning German those days
With online dictionaries now all these offline dictionaries have lost their value
Do you still refer to dictionaries that you may have in your library?

A couple of years ago we had some foreign students lodging with us. One evening I was trying to explain that the netting around my flowers was to protect them from the deer that visit the garden - when they didn't understand me I went to fetch my Spanish dictionary. They were stunned - not by the deer but by the fact that I was using an actual paper-based dictionary!!

Today's youngsters were not born with a hard copy of the dictionary in their mouth unlike us. That is a cute story Fleur.

I have two huge Oxford dictionaries used by my brother.
But it is not easy to carry them around..
I have a pocket Oxford dictionary which my teacher suggested to buy and I have it since 4th grade ...we had to daily take it to the school compulsory as he would ask us anytime to look up for words.
