On September 15 1810, Mexico gave it´s first step towards freedom from Spain. In September that year several colonies did the same taking advantage of problems that Spain was then having. Some people say it was at dawn on September 16. That day, Miguel Hidalgo called the people in Dolores to fight against Spain. It was a September 16 a few years ago that Humberto and Dixie took me to Mexico to see Marcela, their eldest daughter, that was working in Ciudad de Mexico then. We went to the best restaurant in Mexico city, drank huge margaritas and ate delicious food while mariachis sang from table to table. In a couple of days we, too, will have our Independence day. Just 2 days away from theirs. Viva Mexico!

@Deepizzaguy To begin with, weather usually helps. In most parts of Latin America it is spring. This 18, even with the covid, we will have a small barbecue with my family. And om the 19 (Día de las Glorias del Ejército) I will celebrate with my best friends.

Ciudad de Mexico has many things to see. It is the biggest city in the world. And you can see art and sculptures from the time of the Mayas and before to modern. i have gone several times for a month and more and I don´t get tired of it.
