Chene Hunt who is an elementary school teacher at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School in Charleston Indiana credits her training as a former emergency room technician for 18 years to assist five year old kindergarten student Fallen Coleman who was choking. Chene was at the cafeteria at the same time to use the Heimlich maneuver on Fallen to assist her to revive from a time where she came close to passing out or even dying. After Chene was able to remove the food particle from Fallen, Chene took Fallen to a nurse's office where the parents of Fallen were informed what happened at the cafeteria where the incident happened. The incident happened on the third day of the school season. Dustin and his wife Shawna went to the school to personally thank Chene for saving the life of their daughter. In my view a school that hires a teacher who has a medical background are invaluable to work in the school system to save the life of any student or faculty member who needs help.

I saw this technique on YT and FB and glad the teacher was trained to do so.
