Book delivery from Amazon delayed

The book I had ordered from Amazon was supposed to arrive today by 8 pm. I kept tracking the package and, each time I did it, it never said it's actually out for delivery. Went to look outside more than once and nothing on the porch. Tracked the package just now and and it now says the package will arrive late. Most likely tomorrow but maybe not. If it will arrive tomorrow I hope it will come first part of the day because I am most likely won't be home second part of the day. Don't want the book being on the porch for hours.

Is it coming from an amazon driver or from USPS? It seems to always be delayed when it's USPS for me.

Those blue Amazon vans, are they only for Prime members? I don't have Prime.

@lovebuglena I've received deliveries from the prime vans and do not have prime. I'm not sure exactly how they decide who delivers an item.

"The Alchemist" title sounds familiar but I have no idea what it is about or who wrote it.

Do you think someone would actually steal your book if it was left on the porch for a couple of hours? How low does a criminal have to sink to resort to book stealing? LOL

For starters, if there is a box on the porch the criminal wouldn’t know what’s in it lol. Not unless they opened it first. Most likely, nothing will happen to the package but I feel better when the delivered package won’t be on the porch for hours.

@lovebuglena That's understandable. The longer something sits out in the open, the more chances there are for someone to take it. Thankfully, I live in a gated community, so I really don't have to worry too much about that sort of thing. I've had packages delivered on Fridays before while I was out of town and they sat on the front porch the entire weekend.

@moffittjc There is also the weather to take into account. If it will be pouring rain you don't want packages to be on the porch for hours as they can get soaking wet and the contents inside ruined. And if it is heavy winds the packages can get blow away lol. I remember once I found my package not on the porch but next to the garage. And the box was small so there was no reason for it to be put anywhere but the porch.

I had a package that came late, but it wasn't from Amazon. The mail person said there wasn't no secure place. I had it sent the next day and met the mail person outside.

@lovebuglena My uncle has a old fashioned mailbox at the end of the driveway. I guess they couldn't fix it in the mailbox and they didn't want to leave it at the mailbox for someone to steal it. But I was home. They could have been lazy too. They could have put it on the porch.

@JESSY3236 I sometimes wonder why they try to stuff something into the mail box that doesn't really fit...

What did they mean by "there wasn't no secure place"?

I checked my Amazon order and it says out for delivery. Should arrive today by 8 pm. Hopefully that will not change. I would prefer it if the book came earlier today as I don't want it being on the porch for hours when I am gone.

UPDATE: I just got the book. Now I can leave the house and not worry about the book being delivered and being on the porch till I get home.

I hope it comes in a timely fashion. I've had a few orders that never arrived. Of course I was compensated.

It came recently. I saw the USPS vehicle on the street from the living room window so kept an eye out to see if he will come to my door and he did.

In my country it is impossible to track shipments, that takes away the anxiety of receiving it haha. I hope you can enjoy your book soon
