Two weekends ago, my son finally went to the office of the Commission on Election to register. He’s 17 but will turn 18 three months before the election in 2022. It’s going to be a Presidential election and his vote would matter a lot. My son couldn’t be influenced by my opinion or his dad or anybody else’s. . He has his own. He reads the news and is well knowledgeable of what goes on in our country. That makes me confident that he will choose the right candidate.

Yep, and we would usually have a lively discussion about our government and history.

@toniganzon Are you and your son in agreement on politics, or do each of you see things differently?

@toniganzon That doesn't always mean your children would take an interest in it.

@kaylachan oh he wouldn't. We are discouraging him to enter politics. But we talk about politics at home. Even when my siblings and I gather, it's all we discuss.

@DianneN True. I did too when the first time and I got so excited to vote. But in my case I think I was 19 because that was the election year.

Good that he got registered. Every vote counts. This is what I have been hearing for some time now. We'll be having municipal elections here in some months

In my country we allow registration of voters who will turn 18 years of age 6 months before the election.
