Did You Find High School Fun?

After discussing the class we hated the most at school, I decided to reach out to ask if anyone actually had fun at school? If you did, what part of it did you actually enjoy? Just thinking about the subject brought back lots of memories that I would never have accumulated if it wasn't for school lol. I loved assemblies lol, and I loved my spares. Now let me think... I loved the lunch break. We had a jukebox in our last year and I think that we spent way too much money listening to American Pie lol! Loved the dances too now that I think about it. The first one should be coming up soon... Anyone remember Sadie Hawkins dances??
Now if classes could have been more fun. ;)

It was the mid to late 1960s and we just had simple sock hops where we all just went to dance, I don't recall anyone dating. A bunch of girls would go together and a bunch of boys would go and we girls waited for the boys to ask us to dance. These things were held before dark on Fridays and I remember being home in time for dinner a 7pm.

Yeah, I guess it was a bit of both. Sock hops... we never had any of those??? How did they differ from a typical high school dance??

@rebelann I was in high school the 70s and I guess some things had changed by then. I don't think that the dances ever began before 8??? But I do remember the girls on one side of the gym and the boys on the other. LOL... that had to be a long walk for those boys who got the nerve up to ask one of us to dance ... ;)

@Hate2Iron A sock hop is a dance in the school gym where they usually play basketball, all dressed up for a dance. You wear only socks on the gym floor. It's fun dancing around wearing socks and not shoes.

Not at all. Though I was pregnant for 10th grade and hardly there because of always being sick lol. And dropped out after that year. So was barely there two years (9th and 10th).

High school was not fun. Way too stressful. I went to one of the top 10 schools in the nation with a really tough curriculum. I was also put in some honors classes which made it all the more difficult. I loved junior high. Lots of friends, my first date, working on the school newspaper, etc. High school had 3,000 students. It was like a zoo! I remember asking 3 or 4 boys to the Sadie Hawkins Dance in high school; and no on accepted. :-(

I think I did but I had more fun when I was in the university. Before I entered high school I would hear a lot from my older siblings and others hat high school's the best part of life. So I was so looking forward to that. But it wasn't as great as I was in the university.
I could be a late bloomer. The part that I enjoyed in college the most was the interaction I had with my professor, the late night drinking, and the trips I had with friends.
