It's That Time Of Year

I knit, crochet, and sew. I have a closet that is nearly full with yarn. I also have some fabric.
Over the past several years, I have crocheted items such as hats, wash cloths, scarves, and kitty mats for my donation box. I have donated hats for kids who go to a community center for after school activities. I have donated hats and washcloths to an organization that helps out people in need of such items. I have also donated kitty mats to the local animal shelter.
Last month, I started crocheting hats so that I can get a lot of the yarn in the closet used up. On the average, I have been making at least one hat per day. Sometimes, I'll make two in a day. I have been trying to figure where I will be donating these hats.
After I get tired of making hats, I hope to move on to making some masks with the fabric that I have had on hand for several years. I might try to sell some of them for extra pocket change and donate some to the nearby activity center or one of the churches that I'm familiar with.
Seems that fall and winter is the time of year during which I fill up the donation box full of hats and wash cloths and kitty mats. This year, masks for those who wear them will be added.

I don't really have the right kind of yarn to use for preemies. I have mostly wool, wool blends, and scratchy acrylic.

No. I have not knitted any slippers yet. There are a few slipper patterns that look easy and quick that I would like to try.

That's wonderful you're getting back into it. And I know those who recieve from it will be thankful for it.
