Do you know anybody who has gotten a booster shot?

One of my acquaintances posted on FB she has gotten her third shot, the booster. She said she got it from Walmart and was able to get her flu shot at the same time, no line, and no problem. I want to get one too, but I think I will wait until Novemember. The lady who posted that got her first shots early and I think she is probably about 70..so she is in the age group. She is pleased as punch. I think when I get mine, I might actually ditch the mask. That would be a relief.

Are they out yet. Biden I am not sure but said he supposed to make those mandatory too.

Well apparently so, since someone I know got one. Although maybe she just got another one since she was eligible.

Biden was overruled by the CDC. Boosters are only available for 65 years and older or those with health complications, was my understanding. I'm not that old so quit paying attention after that.

@DaddyEvil You have health complications do you not? You are probably still eligible.

Hubs got the booster yesterday at Walgreens. The pharmacist gave him a hard time, but hubs pointed out that it’s been approved for ages 65 and up and for high risk. He has high bp and cholesterol, high risk enough, so the pharmacist let him get it. We get the flu shots in October.

Hmm, apparently they are pretty accommodating at Walmart at least here. Hubs I am certain must be over 65 anyway..so the pharmacist should not have given him a hard time..lame brain.

Yes, the older couple next door got their booster shots at Walmart here a few days ago. You have heard of break-throughs, right? You might not catch anything but just getting vaccinated doesn't guarantee you won't get it.

We understand that. I generally am not close to others so not a big concern of mine.

I only know people who had AstraZeneca, and are getting Moderns or Pfizer now, so they can travel. I don't think boosters are available here yet, but soon.

I wasn't really sure they were either, but maybe she was just eligible for the 3rd dose so she got it.

@Tampa_girl7 I would guess you are probably elgible now, but yeah see what the doc says. orignally they said 8 months so I think I will wait until Nov. besides the plan at the moment is to go away for Tgiving so having the booster will be good.

@snowy22315 it’s certainly confusing. The evening news says one thing and than I hear the boosters are available at several pharmacies, including Walmart. My husband and I got our 2 nd dose 7 months ago. I’m going to talk to my doctor to see what we should do.

It's weird that now booster shots are added. I thought the original two are a big success.

Since yesterday, booster shots have been recommended here. I think around 100 people got the third shot yesterday. There are many who are not willing to get the third shot. Just last week a guy aged 20 years passed away after after his first shot of astrazeneca. He got a stroke

I have not heard of anyone getting a booster shot yet personally. I did see on the news that they shouldn't be given until 8 months after your second shot-does the same hold true for you?

I wonder when all of the illegal immigrants will be vaccinated.

As soon as they can be I suppose. Not worried about them, none here. I have even issues of my own without worrying about them. I think before they are allowed to settle here they need a negative Covid test, however, this is not intendened to be a political discussion, and I don't want to discuss illegal immigrants. I was simply posting about booster shots which are confusing enough for some without dragging them into the mix... I worry about myself and those that I am close to, and am not paranoid about other people. Most that fail to get vaccinated are regular Ol Americans, who think they know best.
