What do you think about veterinarians?

In my country veterinarians are still underestimated, many people ask me why not just take medical education? This often makes me feel insecure and not enthusiastic about studying as a veterinary student. Even though I think veterinarians are a very noble job, there are many important aspects that are directly related between humans and animals in this world, this is of course clearly visible because humans and animals live side by side on earth.

I don't have any opinions about veterinarians. I sometimes tell people that my daughter is my pet but I wouldn't take her to a vet for treatments. 
I do have fishies as pets but vets here won't treat them.

If you want to become a veterinarian, go for it! Don't listen to other people. It's your life!
Many years ago I got to know a young couple who were studying at university to become veterinarians. They had an appointment with the chief veterinarian of the zoo of the city of Stuttgart, Germany, (where Mercedes and Porsche are built). I accompanid them - although I have nothing to do with animals (I was a teacher of foreign languages at a secondary grammar school).
It was my most interesting visit of a zoo ever! I learnt what to do when a lion has tooth ache, for example. I'll never forget this.
After finishing university, they moved to a small town. He became a veterinarian for the big animals, cows, horses, sheep, she for the small ones, the pets. Many years ago I visited them and went with the man on his tour to the farmers who had problems with their cows and horses. An unforgettable experience!
Their son also became a veterinarian, took over the practice when his father retired and married a woman who was veterinarian for small animals just like his mother.

I agree with M-L , recently I had an experience happen to my dog, and I was so glad that those veterinarians knew how to treat her ! I was amazed ! To me they are just as important and know just as much as a physician !

I think that they are good at treating animals who are unwell
And I think that they are even better at taking our money from us with large bills they give us
