I was in the mood for pot roast yesterday but my Instacart order didn't arrive until 6 pm so it was too late to start it then. I'm making it now. It will be ready around 4 pm and waiting for me when I'm hungry for dinner.
I tried a new recipe last week and didn't like it at all. Today I'm back to my tried and true one: Mama Neely's Pot Roast. I've been making it for years. I skip the garlic and double the wine and it is an absolute winner. It is funny because I LOVE garlic but I just don't like the flavor of it when it is cooked for hours. A neighbor suggested using garlic powder but I honestly don't think it even needs it.
Looking forward to it! It is sooooo good.

Tried and tested are the best ones. And if you don't like garlic overcooked, you might not like garlic powder either. Good that you have your own variation. Enjoy it.

I haven't had pot roast for ages. Maybe whenever I go to the store again, I will get some beef.

I love pot roast but I make it by heart. I donĀ“t think that I ever read a recipe for it. Maybe I just watched my grandma. She used crushed garlic and onion for just about everything.

I bought an electric pressure cooker in the hopes that hubs would use it -- he loves pot roast...but it's still in the box. :-(
