I pay 762 for a handicap accessible apartment one bedroom in California and it’s low income lol, but if not subsidized I’d be paying $933

I haven´t paid rent in decades. I own my house. But from what I´ve heard of the rents in the US this is very cheap.

I'd be concerned about the quality, depending on where you live. As well as the neighborhood. I'd say around the 600's, and that was years ago when the cost of living was a lot lower.

I have a HUD apartment that I pay $332 a month including utilities and apartments and grounds are taken care of meticulously!!
