Improvised door bell

I don't know why my father don't install a door bell but instead this simple door bell or gate bell so people won't have to shout while waiting in the gate.
We just order bells online but the sound is not loud enough so we use our old wind chimes too. It sound better. We just attach string and put a sign outside to just pull the string.
I think it's only us that use this

We have a doorbell, but 7 out of 10 adults don't seem to see it and just holler from the gate.
And yet school kids passing by (pre-pandemic) know and play with it constantly.

Maybe if there are school kids too many will be playing with the strings and pull and make noise

@averygirl72 We have a smaller wind chime similar to that, but we tied it to the screen door.

Bells are not what they used to be. I tried 3 times with different ones and now I quit. I tell everyone to call me from their cellphone when they are at the door.

We don't have a door bell or any bell at our gate. We are a bit hesitant because it might sound even when there is no one at our gate... Hihihi
